Measuring everything and doing nothing is much worse than measuring only one thing and doing something with that data. This is a great article that illustrates the challenge that startups face when trying to optimise their product and working out what needs tweaking. With so many variables and so many measurables where do you start?
Firstly simplify the problem by finding that one metric that matters and optimising the hell out of your product based on this. Focusing your resources on this one metric will increase you chances of having a positive affect as well as gaining more in depth learning about your users. As all you lean startup disciples know “validated learning” is king!.
